Tijara fort |
Hello, fellow travel enthusiasts! Today, I want to share with you my experience of visiting Tijara Fort in Alwar, Rajasthan. The fort is located about 100 kilometers from Delhi and is a perfect weekend getaway destination.
First things first, let’s talk about the accommodation. The fort has been converted into a hotel, offering a luxurious stay for its guests. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, with modern amenities such as air conditioning and Wi-Fi. What sets this hotel apart is the spectacular view from the rooms – you can wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the Aravalli hills.
Moving on to the food – the hotel has an in-house restaurant that serves delectable Rajasthani cuisine. The food is cooked using traditional methods and ingredients, giving it an authentic taste. The staff is courteous and always ready to cater to your needs.
Now, let’s talk about the fort itself. The Tijara Fort was built in the 19th century by Maharaja Balwant Singh as a summer retreat for the royal family. The fort is spread over 7 acres and has been beautifully restored, retaining its original charm. The fort has several courtyards, gardens, and terraces that offer a stunning view of the surrounding landscape.
One of the highlights of my visit to Tijara Fort was the guided tour of the fort. The guide took us through the history of the fort, pointing out the intricate details of the architecture and the various artifacts on display. It was fascinating to learn about the culture and traditions of the Rajputs.
Another activity that I would highly recommend is the nature walk around the fort. The walk takes you through the nearby village and offers a glimpse into the daily lives of the locals. You can also spot several species of birds and animals during the walk.
Overall, my experience at Tijara Fort was unforgettable. It was a perfect mix of luxury, history, and nature. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway destination from Delhi, Tijara Fort is definitely worth a visit.
